Introducing Baby Bradley!

On March 13th we welcomed our little baby boy into the world! Rory Bradley was born at 1:21pm after a fairly quick and intense (traumatic at points) labour 4 weeks early. He was born a healthy 7.7lbs and other than being 4 weeks early had no issues to note. Us (and the midwives) couldn’t believe how developed he was for a 36 week old baby but that meant we could go home a couple days later.

Being handed your baby is the most surreal thing in the world – I remember when he was placed on my chest that he wasn’t crying and being concerned something was wrong but it was all fine. The love we both felt for this little guy was just out of this world. Each day I don’t think I could love him more but I do – each day he becomes more alert and it still feels very surreal that we made this little bundle of joy.

Becoming a mum has been the most amazing thing to happen to me and my priorities have changed very quickly in this short space of time. It hasn’t been an easy road to get here 18 days on, with 7 out of 9 of his first days spent in hospital with lots of tears from me, but it has been worth it and I’d do it all again. The sleep deprivation has been hard and I see why people say the first 6 weeks are a blur of no sleep. But every time he smiles in his milk drunk state or stares up at us, we’re overcome with this big wave of love for this little creature its unreal.

I’ll get onto writing up my final trimester and birth story, but for now here he is, our little Rory <3

Until next time,

Cathers xx
