These past few weeks haven’t been that eventful so I thought I’d go back through my pics from last year and write up some posts on previous trips. To start them off I’m going back to Bordeaux. This was my first time to Bordeaux and I definitely enjoyed it. I went with a couple friends from school for a long weekend and we tried to squeeze as much as we could into a long weekend.
We found the most lovely airbnb and were blown away by it! Usually when booking Airbnb’s we usually go for our own space but this time we hadn’t realised we’d only booked a room… oops! We had wondered why it was really affordable for what it looked like! The apartment was right next to the historic centre so was in the perfect location. (See here for link)
How gorgeous! |
All the marble vibes |
Downstairs to the bedrooms… |
Super cute… |
Statement decor… |
It ended up that the host wasn’t around for the weekend so we basically ended up having the place to ourselves which was perfect! The host is an architect and you can tell from his on point decor… I mean just look…
I mean… WOW! |
So Airbnb aside, here’s my 5 things to do in Bordeaux in a weekend…
1) Visit the Cheese Cave at Baud et Millet
(See here for website)
In cheese heaven… |
2) Take a wander around La Cité du Vin
(See here for website)
3) Admire the architecture
Bordeaux is full of super old buildings. Take a leisurely stroll and just admire the view. Make sure to walk by Place de la Bourse to see it all lit up at night! Other places to check out are Porte Cailhau, La Grosse Cloche and Esplanade des Quinconces.
4) Wander the streets
Bordeaux has some super cute alleyways and streets which have little shops and many a wine bar. Make sure to check out Rue Bouquiere and Sainte Catherine.
5) Have some tasty food!
Make sure to grab a Canales and a crepe! A must do in Bordeaux!
My fav topping always has to be lemon and sugar…
Delish! |
So those are my top 5 things to do in Bordeaux if you’re there for a weekend!
